Who says we need make up anyways? Well, I guess we do. And when I say we, I mean you too. We all do. We have even tricked ourselves into thinking that we are naked without it. How is this possible? Materialism. Consumerism. The attempt of perfecting something that is perfect because it is not.
Before cake facing, there was cake baking. Before eyeliner, there was eye contact. Before lipstick, we had our own lips to lick. Before blush, we were made to blush. Now we just hide our blemishes behind bottles of cover-up and cosmetics while we spend our time, money, and efforts on looking good rather than being good. The amount of money that the United States and the United Kingdom spend on perfume every year is enough money to solve world hunger. That is so wrong! But who is going to do anything about it? No one. Instead, the cosmetics industry expands while the quality of life decreases.
While I am here to tell you that there is beauty in the broken, in the breakdown, in the blemishes. It`s all about perspective!
These are my raw thoughts on the subject, but alas I must go. And as strongly as I feel about it all, I will probably wake up and put some make up on tomorrow to tell you the truth.
